Personal searches

The Council has a statutory duty to make the Local Land Charge Register available to any person wishing to carry out a personal search and in accordance with the instructions issued 27th July 2010 by the Department for Communities and Local Government there is no fee.

To undertake an inspection of the register, under EIR (Environmental Information Regulations) please make an appointment to attend the Council Offices, Kesteven Street, Sleaford.

The Local Land Charge Register for North Kesteven District Council is held at the Council Offices, Kesteven Street, Sleaford NG34 7EF and under rule 7 of the Local Land Charges Rules (1977) conditional planning consents are held in the Planning Register.

Appointments and booking arrangements

Appointments times are in 1 hour slots Monday to Friday commencing at 9.30, 10.30, 11.30, 14.00 and 15.00.

Please ring the Local Land Charge section to make the appointment on 01529 414155.  Ensure your request for an appointment and all address and location plans are received by this office before 12 noon on the working day prior to your intended appointment to allow staff time to prepare reports for your inspection.  Location plans should be clearly marked and ordnance survey scale 2500 or 1250.  For new properties a developer plan will be sufficient.  Send the details to 

At the time of your appointment if you encounter any difficulties with the computer systems please use the list of extensions numbers for the appropriate computer package which are clearly displayed on the computer desk.  Alternatively please use the extension 28238 which will connect you to Local Land Charge staff, which will assist where they can.  Where staffing issues can be predicted we will advise you in advance at the earliest possible occasion.

If you cannot keep your appointment please let the office know as soon as possible so the appointment can be used by another company or member of the public

In the event of system failure

Please ensure the Local Land Charge section has got up to date contact details for you or your office, this should include telephone numbers where possible.  In the event of power, network system/computer failure, regrettably, we would have to contact you to postpone any affected appointment
