Crime prevention

We are committed to making sure the district is a safe place to live, work and visit.

CCTV

There are seven CCTV cameras in the Sleaford area, and three in North Hykeham which are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The images recorded are held for a minimum of 28 days before being erased and all records images are controlled under the Data Protection Act. You can contact the Community Safety manager on 01529 414155 for more information.

Unfortunately the Anti-Social Behaviour Team/Environmental Health Team does not have available legislation to govern the use of domestic CCTV. This is managed by under the Data Protection Act. The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) does have some helpful information on their website about the use of domestic CCTV systems and the rights of people who are captured on such systems under Data Protection Laws.
