Your health and safety

Context for this webpage

The purpose of this page is to provide our Council tenants with assurance on our compliance with Health & Safety matters relating to your home. The Council have a range of legal requirements to ensure your home is safe. The Regulator for Social Housing sets out their requirements in the consumer standards detailed under the Home Standard.

Please find the information on the following below:

  • RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)
  • Damp & Mould
  • Radon (This page is currently in development).

New documents will be added as the page develops.

In respect to the financial year 2022/2023 the following facts were reported:

  1. 99.78% of dwellings have a valid gas safety certificate (Remaining properties are no access).
  2. 99% of periodic electrical inspections have been completed to date (Remaining properties are no access).

Health and safety lead

The Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, section 126 requires the Council to have a designated Health & Safety lead, who is responsible for ensuring the monitoring of the Housing and Property Service Health and Safety compliance for the authority.

The allocated Health and Safety Lead employed by the Council, reported to the Regulator for Social Housing is:
