Over £20m has been made available to a number of businesses in North Kesteven thanks to the government’s promise to support the economy.
Officers are busy contacting the 1,849 eligible businesses in the district to make funds available to them and provide much-needed financial funding at this time of national crisis. Eligibility for these grants are based on receipt of Business Rates relief and rateable values.
Small businesses, or those in the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure sector if not done already, will hear from Officers in the coming days via email, phone, letter or social media.
Council Leader, Councillor Richard Wright said: “This financial boost will be a welcome relief for many of the businesses in our District. The support opened up by Government not only helps our economy, but also that of our residents – easing the worry that is placed upon them during this difficult time.
Whilst we appreciate business owners will be eager to speak with officers about this, we ask for your patience at this time. Phone lines are extremely busy, and the team are working hard to validate and process application forms in order that payments can be authorised as quickly as possible. Thank you.”
