Tribute paid to Tony Worth

Date Published: 10 November 2017

North Kesteven District Council Leader Richard Wright has paid tribute to Tony Worth, who has passed away after a short illness.

A former Lord Lieutenant for Lincolnshire, Tony was a great friend of North Kesteven, and a strong advocate for Lincolnshire over many years.

He was the driving force behind the development of the International Bomber Command Centre, and his passion and commitment encouraged tremendous backing for the project locally and nationally.

Councillor Wright said: We are saddened to hear of Tony’s passing and send our condolences to his family and friends.

The work he did to get the International Bomber Command Centre off the ground cannot be underestimated; ensuring the heroic efforts of the Bomber Command is remembered for generations to come.

He will be terribly missed by us all. North Kesteven and Lincolnshire have lost a true friend.
