North Kesteven District Council’s Breastfeeding-Friendly project

Date Published: 23 September 2022

Calling all North Kesteven businesses and venues! Would you be interested in displaying a Breastfeeding-Friendly window sticker?

By supporting North Kesteven District Council’s Breastfeeding-Friendly project your business or venue in the District will contribute to parents feeling welcome, safe and protected whilst feeding their baby.

The project aims to normalise breastfeeding and break down the barriers around public breastfeeding, with a specially designed window sticker to convey the clear message that it’s supported and welcomed on the premises along with babies fed by bottle and other ways.

By showing this sticker in your venue window you will be sending a clear message to people who breastfeed, allowing them to feel comfortable to feed their baby whenever they need to do so, as well as those who don’t.

In addition, if you choose to join and display a window sticker your business can now be listed in the Council’s online business directory as “child and breastfeeding friendly”.

As this list is built up, the online directory at www.businessnk.co.uk can then act as further help for breastfeeding parents to find venues they might wish to visit and enjoy.

If you are interested in displaying a Breastfeeding-Friendly window sticker, please contact the team at partnershipsteam@n-kesteven.gov.uk with your business details including the address to arrange for stickers to be sent to you.
