Recently, as part of our drive to improve the quality of all recycling in North Kesteven, we left advisory tags on a large number of green-lidded bins to give advice and as a reminder on what can’t go in them.
Lots of you got in touch to ask us about recycling as a result. Thank you for your questions, and for doing all you can to recycle right.
Here’s a quick reminder of the top things which can’t go in your green-lidded bin:
- Plastic wrappers, such as film lids and packets
- Plastic bags, such as carrier bags and bread bags
- Crisp packets
- Takeaway boxes
- Dry, clean paper and card, which must now go in your purple-lidded bin. Dirty, shredded or contaminated paper and card should go in the black bin only.
If you’re ever unsure, you can take a look at our leaflet and A-Z of recycling or ask us.
