Parking schemes and permits

For off street parking in council run car parks, parking permits (also known as season tickets) can be purchased at a discounted rate, i.e. cheaper than the cost of buying daily tickets to use the car parks.

Please refer to Car Parks and Season Tickets.

A residents parking scheme (RPS) is an area where parking is only permitted in designated parking bays. Any unauthorised parked cars are issued with a parking ticket. Residents, their visitors, and local businesses can park in designated bays when displaying a relevant parking permit for that scheme area.

A RPS will only be considered at locations where it can be identified residents have a problem finding a parking space near to where they live. However, where the problem is caused by too many residents parking in the area then a RPS will not resolve or improve the situation.

To be taken forward schemes must demonstrate a significant level of support from residents as the introduction of a scheme will impact on all households, their visitors and businesses.

Any scheme also requires support from local authorities and services including Lincolnshire Highways, emergency services and NKDC waste services.

Implementation of new Residents Parking Schemes in Lincolnshire fall under the remit of the district councils.  There is currently one parking scheme in operation in the North Kesteven district.
