There is a vacancy in Sleaford Town Council – Castle Ward for which an election have been called. The election will take place on Thursday 22 March 2018.
Notice of Election
The Notice of Election publicises the election that is to be held and the timetable, including the date by which prospective candidates must submit a nomination paper. This will be available on the downloads tab from 15 February.
The Register of Electors
You can only vote if your name is on the Register of Electors for the Castle Ward of Sleaford Town Council.
The current register was published on 1 February 2018. If you have since moved address or have not registered, you will need to complete and return a voter registration form by Tuesday 6 March 2018 to register for this election. Or you can register to vote online at Gov.uk.
Postal and Proxy Voting
If you would like to vote by post, you will need to complete a postal vote application form and the Electoral Registration Officer must receive your application before 5pm on Wednesday 7 March 2018 if it is to be effective for this election.
If you are granted a postal vote, you will NOT be able to vote in person at this election. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Customer Services 01529 414155 to request a postal vote application form. Postal vote forms can also be downloaded from Your Vote Matters. Ensure you allow sufficient time to receive and return the postal vote application before the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 7 March 2018.
If you would like to appoint a proxy (someone to vote on your behalf), you will need to complete a proxy vote application form. The Electoral Registration Officer must receive your application before 5pm on Wednesday 14 March 2018 if it is to be effective for this election. If you have appointed a proxy to vote in person for you, you can still vote yourself, but ONLY if your proxy has not already voted on your behalf. Proxy vote application forms can be downloaded from Your Vote Matters or requested from the Council on 01529 414155.
Statement of Persons Nominated
The Returning Officer is required to publish a Statement of Persons Nominated no later than 4pm on Monday 26 February 2018 (this will be added to the downloads tab when available).

The Returning Officer is required to publish a Notice of Poll (which will be added automatically when the documents are available no later than Wednesday 14 March 2018). This notice gives details of the validly nominated candidates and the polling stations used for the election.
