Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner Election - 6th May 2021

The Police and Crime Commissioner election

The Police and Crime Commissioner election originally scheduled to be held on Thursday 7th May 2020, will now be held on Thursday 6th May 2021.

Polling stations across the North Kesteven District Council area will open at 7am and close at 10pm to elect a Commissioner.

For each police force area, one council will act as the lead authority dealing with the nomination of candidates and co-ordinating and declaring the results.  For Lincolnshire the Police and Crime Commissioner election is co-ordinated by the Police Area Returning Officer of City of Lincoln Council.  For further information visit visit the City of Lincoln website.

Police and Crime Commissioners are elected using the Supplementary Vote system.

The ballot paper will list the Police and Crime Commissioner candidates, with two columns for marking your first choice and second choice.

In the first column, you mark a cross [X] next to the candidate who is your first choice. For your vote to be counted, you need to cast a first choice vote.

In the second column, you can mark a cross [X] next to the candidate who is your second choice. You do not have to mark a second choice.

If only two candidates stand in your area, the election will use the first-past-the-post system. You can only vote for one candidate in this instance, by putting a cross [X] in the box next to your choice.
