I get Income Support/ income-based Jobseekers Allowance/ income-related Employment and Support Allowance.

I get Income Support/ income-based Jobseekers Allowance/ income-related Employment and Support Allowance.  Will this change affect me?

Yes it will affect you in the following ways.  If  you are getting Employment and Support Allowance you will be protected from change because you will be classed as sick or disabled and may get up to 100% of your Council Tax paid depending on your circumstances.  For people who get the other benefits you will be affected because you will have to pay 10% of your Council Tax bill.  In addition if you have other adults like grown up sons and daughters living in your home you might find a higher non-dependent deduction applied so this will increase the amount of Council Tax you have to pay.

If you want to work out how much you will have to pay please use the online calculator.
