Council owned trees

text | Council owned trees

The Council inspects and maintains over 6000 trees in the NK. Most of these trees are on public open spaces owned by the Council. The Council has a Tree Policy that sets out how it maintains its trees. The Council recognises the wide range benefits that trees bring to our communities; the primary objectives of this Tree Policy are to maximise the health and longevity of the Council’s tree assets, and to maintain and enhance the number of trees on our public open spaces.

All trees owned by the Council are inspected at least once every three years, in order that they are effectively maintained.

If you are concerned about the condition of a tree that you think is owned by the Council, you can report it to us using our online form.
