Two events are being held next week to help raise awareness of online scams and fraud and how to respond to it.

In an extension to the regular free NK Digital Hubs that take place in Sleaford and Heckington, these special sessions – on May 7 and 8 – will have a particular focus on scams and fraud.

They are open to all:

  • On Tuesday May 7 at Sleaford’s Riverside Centre, next door to Sleaford Community Grocers in the Riverside Shopping Centre, Sleaford – 10.30pm to 12pm.
  • On Wednesday May 8 at Heckington Methodist Church Hall – 1pm to 2.30pm

Come along to:

• Learn about different types of scams and how to spot them.
• Get to know the important steps to report scams and fraud.
• Discover sources of support if you experience scams or fraud.
• Understand how to support a family member if they do experience scams or fraud.

These informative sessions are run by North Kesteven District Council and Friends Against Scams, in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, the Safer Lincolnshire Partnership and the host locations.

More generally, weekly Digital Hubs – in Sleaford, Osbournby, Metheringham. Heckington, Ruskington and Waddington – are offered by North Kesteven District Council to support people through familiarisation with digital devices and practices in order that they can better navigate an increasingly digital and online environment for daily activities such as shopping, paying bills and connecting with friends, family and organisations, and to take advantages of the opportunities and benefits such technologies represent.

For more information on the Digital Hubs and these sessions, contact co-ordinator Rachael Gordon, on 01529 414155 or email
