Final set of interim proposal feedback letters issued

Update issued on 11 June 2025

On 3 June MHCLG (Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government) issued the final set of interim proposal feedback letters, including that for Greater Lincolnshire councils. The letter has been published as part of the Council's Executive Board agenda for its 19 June meeting.

The report to Executive Board summarises the key points from the letter and the next stages of the process. There has been a ministerial statement to parliament on wider progress, and MHCLG have also published a feedback summary covering all the interim proposals submitted across the 21 LGR areas.

6 June 2025: Government feedback letter on interim proposals now received

Government feedback letter on interim proposals now received

Update issued on 6 June 2025

Councils in Greater Lincolnshire received this week their feedback letter from MHCLG on the interim LGR proposals submitted back in March.

Feedback in the letter was largely generic and common to that contained in the feedback letters provided to the other 20 areas in England subject to LGR.

The letter did not comment on the merits or otherwise of any of the individual interim proposals submitted, bur rather set out general observations on elements that should be further considered and / or developed in more detail for the full proposal(s) due from Greater Lincolnshire at the end of November.

A summary report covering the letter and the next stages of proposal development will be submitted to the council’s Executive Board at its meeting scheduled for 19 June. This report is due to be published week commencing 9 June.

The Government has also published a general summary of the proposals received across all 21 LGR areas. It can be accessed on the GOV.UK website.
