TAKE NOTE that under the provisions of Section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 North Kesteven District Council has fixed a revised scale of fares for hackney carriages operating in the District as follows:
Mileage (Tariff 1)
Standing Charge: £3.00
(distance not exceeding 1/10 of a mile)
For each subsequent 1/10 of a mile or uncompleted part thereof: 0.20p
(£4.80 for the first mile. £2.00 per mile thereafter)
(Tariff 1 applies between 7.30am and 11pm.)
Mileage (Tariff 2)
50% above the rate of fare at Tariff 1.
(Tariff 2 applies between 11pm and 7.30am and all day Sunday, Public Holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve between 6pm and midnight.)
Mileage (Tariff 3)
100% above the rate of fare at Tariff 1.
(Tariff 3 applies on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.)
Waiting Time:
For each period of forty seconds or uncompleted part thereof: 0.20p
Extra Charges:
For passengers above 4 in number: £1.50 per passenger
Soiling charge: £100.00
Each article of luggage carried outside the passenger compartment: 0.20p
The above scale will come into operation on 17 October 2022 unless objections are received. Details of the existing scale of fares may be obtained from the undersigned to whom objections should be sent in writing within fourteen days from the date of publication of this notice or by email to: licensing@n-kesteven.gov.uk.
If any objection is made, and is not withdrawn, the Council will set a further date, not later than two months after 17 October 2022, on which the table of fares shall come into force with or without modification as decided by the Council after consideration of objections.
A table of fares made or varied under this Section shall have effect, for the purpose of the Town Police Clause Act 1847, as if it were included in hackney carriage byelaws made thereunder.
