Alternative Fuel Vehicles

The General Licensing Committee at North Kesteven District Council (NKDC) are researching the information around Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV’s) and the potential for more of them to be licensed as Hire Vehicles.  This is prompted by the climate emergency declared by NKDC and the national drive towards alternative public transport options.  The Government have already announced that by 2030 no new petrol or diesel vehicles will be available for sale.

As such, the Committee are seeking views from the Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Trade within the District, in relation to the future usage of petrol/diesel/AFV’s.

In particular, whether you are considering a move towards AFV’s away from petrol/diesel, or if there are any concerns currently preventing you from considering AFVs as Hire Vehicles.  If you are not currently considering moving away from petrol/diesel vehicles, then is there anything which would encourage you to reconsider.

All views should be forwarded by email to by post to Licensing Team, NKDC, Kesteven street, Sleaford, NG34 7EF, or by completing the online survey.

Any responses should be received by 29th April 2022.
