The Cycle Trail
The circular trail highlighted on the map takes you through 2000 years of local history, from the Roman Occupation, through the era of the Knights Templars to the sites of the Second World War.
The wide grass verges to the lanes and the stone walls along the route date from the time of enclosure and provide shelter for many small animals and insects and for limestone loving plants.
The trail is easily accessible by cycle from local villages and from Lincoln using some of the quieter back lanes over the Heath. Refreshments are available in the adjacent villages of Navenby and Wellingore
