North Kesteven Health Trainers are building on the success of last year's free 'Fit for Life NK' initiative by launching another cycle of free programmes which shall start in September.
It is the aim of the two North Kesteven District Health Trainers - Andy George and Debbie Chessum - to help improve the health of the district's 100 flourishing communities, and reduce any health inequalities in which this area may suffer.
Health Trainer, Andy George said; "We designed the 12 week programme around individuals' requirements with an aim to support a healthier lifestyle in the home. We feel that the programme can help a variety of people, and hope that the message of 'healthy living' can get out into the community by doing this type of thing."
Over the course of the programme participants will look at their height, weight, body mass index, and fat and muscle levels, as well as keep a food and activity diary, in order to help them meet their own goals.
With the help of local agencies, the course will be fun packed as well as informative, including topics such as food and nutrition, healthy cooking, aerobics, health walks and a tai chi taster.
Councillor Mrs Marion Brighton commented: "This is such a fantastic opportunity for the people of the district. A lot of hard work is put into organising these initiatives all in order to benefit the community, and the support that is gained from local agencies is admirable."
Not only is the course FREE but crèche facilities are also provided.
