The Council has a Planning Committee that comprises of all 43 Members. This Committee deals with strategically important planning applications. There are also two Planning Meetings that meet once every six weeks at 5pm. These Planning Meetings comprise of elected Members who are responsible for determining planning proposals and each can determine planning applications from anywhere within the District.
Membership of these Committees has to be politically balanced, i.e. in proportion to the number of members of each political group on the full Council. One meeting with 23 Members is called Lafford, and the other with 22 Members is called Eastgate. Follow the external weblinks below for membership details.
