The Beck to Heighington

Starting at Village Hall car park take path behind Hall to Linden Avenue. Follow boundary of school field to Beech Road. Cross road and walk down Cherry Avenue to far enc. Follow footpath to right beside stream.
Notice uneven heights of stream banks. Follow stream to first open space; turn left over stile and footbridge; turn right and follow stream to farm buildings. Go straight on and over stile into field, following stream.

Footpath continues over 3 stiles, 2 with dog gates, past line of poplars to cycle-track off Sheepwash Lane. Walk along cycle-track and cross road to follow stream to steps over railway (beware trains). Keep stream on your right until you reach road.
At Mill Lane leave stream turn right and follow road. At junction with Station Road go straight past Methodist Chapel. At this point Heritage Room is on left behind Chapel of Ease.

At T-Junction turn right and walk up hill. At top turn right on to public footpath. Leave cart track and walk straight on between houses over grassy area marked with footpath sign. Climb over stile, walk over railway bridge and cross field on trodden path to footpath sign at far hedge. Turn right along Pudding Busk Lane for a few metres then follow footpath across next field.

Turn right at hedge, walk to road and cross over to follow footpath opposite. At footpath sign turn left along hedgerow and rejoin stream at Dyehouse Farm. Continue behind houses; turn right and cross path through open area known locally as 'The Jungle'. Turn left. Stop and visit Nature Reserve, originally water meadow where cattle grazed - information boards describe the wildlife in this peaceful area.

Continue on path behind houses.
Turn right long Lincoln Road to Village Hall.
