Facts on waste

In the last year (2009/10) we.... 

· Emptied 3.7 million wheeled bins across the District.

· It cost households in North Kesteven just over one pound (£1.04) per week for their waste collection and recycling service.

· We cleared 809 incidents of Fly Tipping.  144 of these were subject to detailed investigation.  Last year the Council also successfully secured one of the largest fines for flytipping that has been secured by a local authority of £10,000 and £2000 of costs were awarded to the Council and Fire Authority.

· We cut 305,037 square metres of grass on North Kesteven's Open Spaces.

· We emptied 354 Dog Waste Bins every week.

· We swept 7,200 kilometres of road.
