We provide seperate collection services for bulky domestic items and electrical items in the District:
- Examples of Domestic Items: table, chairs, carpets, suites, beds, wardrobes
- Examples of Electrical Items: fridge, freezer, televisions, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, computers
To arrange a collection for either bulky domestic items or electrical items, you can download a request form available under the Attachments section below and return it to the address shown on the form. Or you can contact the Customer Services Team to request a collection and make a payment over the phone using the contact details further down this page.
We are unable to collect the following items:
- Garden Refuse
- Bricks
- Concrete
- Tyres and Car Parts
- Asbestos
- Cast Iron Boilers.
Payment
Up to 3 items the charge £6.30 in total. From 4 to 6 items the charge is £12.85 in total. (A three-piece suite, i.e. a sofa and two easy chairs would be classed as three items. A dinning table and four chairs would be classed as five items).
There are concessions if you are in receipt of income related benefits. If you are in receipt of any of the following benefits, the service is free:
- Working Families Tax Credit
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit (not living/attendance allowance)
- Council Tax Benefit (not single person reduction)
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit or
- Job Seekers Allowance (income related)
- Employment Support Allowance (income related)
Collection
Items will be collected within approximately 5 working days upon receipt of a completed form. We request that all items are left outside of your property where it is easy to gain access for their removal.
Take your own bulky or electrical items to the Household Waste Recycling Centre?
You can also get rid of your own waste including bulky or electrical items at the Household Waste Recycling Centres (more commonly know as the the 'tip' ) around the District. Furniture Re-use/ Recycling
Household and electrical items may be re-used if in appropriate condition such as the Sleaford and District Furniture Recycling Project, who operate in a 12 mile radius of Sleaford, and will collect serviceable furniture that can be used by other households.
