Council Services:

Collecting large / bulky or electrical items

We provide separate collection services for bulky domestic items and electrical items in the District: 

  • Examples of Domestic Items: table, chairs, carpets, suites, beds, wardrobes
  • Examples of Electrical Items: fridge, freezer, televisions, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, computers

To arrange a collection for either bulky domestic items or electrical items you can contact the Customer Services Team to request a collection and make a payment over the phone using the contact details in the contacts tab above or you can download a request form available below and return it to the address shown on the form.  

Collection

Items will be collected within approximately 5 working days upon receipt of a completed form.  We request that all items are left outside of your property where it is easy to gain access for their removal.

Furniture Re-use/ Recycling

Household and electrical items may be re-used if in appropriate condition.

Items we cannot collect

We are unable to collect the following items: Garden Refuse, Bricks, Concrete, Tyres and Car Parts, Asbestos, Cast Iron Boilers

Payment for Collection

Up to 3 items the charge is £10.50 in total.  From 4 to 6 items the charge is £21.00 in total.
