Council Services:

Street Naming and Numbering

The District Council is responsible for the naming and numbering of streets and buildings in North Kesteven. We do this so that new street names and building names and numbers are allocated logically which, among other things ensures the effective delivery of mail and that emergency service vehicles are able to locate addresses easily.

For naming and numbering on new developments, the Council will work with both the developer and the Parish or Town Council to agree a suitable street name and the Street Naming and Numbering officer will then number the properties logically along that street.

If you want to change the name or number of your property you will need to apply in writing using the ‘Application to Change Property Name/Number’ form which is available from the downloads tab.

If you need an address for a new property, you will need to apply in writing using the ‘Application for New Address’ form which is available from the downloads tab.

Royal Mail are responsible for the allocation and management of postcodes so if your query relates to this, please contact Royal Mail or visit their website.

If you have any further queries relating to any of the above, please contact the Street Naming and Numbering Officer on 01529 414155 or via email – planning@n-kesteven.gov.uk
