Submitting your planning application

At this stage, if you haven’t already, you should consider employing a professional planning agent or architect to prepare your planning application for you.

Application up and running

Once the technical administration officer is satisfied that all the necessary information has been submitted, the application will be registered as valid and allocated to a planning officer.

Design and access statements

A design and access statement is required for many types of planning application - both full and outline - but there are exemptions.

Heritage statements

Listed buildings, conservation areas and archaeological sites represent a precious and irreplaceable resource.

Planning decisions

When a planning application has been decided, the Council will issue a decision notice.

Granted or refused

These provide the outcome of a planning application. All decision notices are available online.

Planning Committee

All relevant persons will be notified that the application is going to committee.
