Why change to Direct Debit?

  • It gives you a choice of payment dates.
  • It is a more convenient way to pay.
  • It helps you budget for the future.
  • It saves you money on postage and stationery.
  • It avoids travelling expenses and queuing.
  • You do not have to complete a new form every year, unless you change Bank or Building Society or move house.
  • You will be notified before an amount is debited.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time.
  • The Direct Debit Guarantee governs all payments.

* Annually    * Half yearly   * Quarterly   * Monthly (10 instalments)

On the 1st, 8th, 15th, 23rd or 28th of the month

How to Pay your Council Tax or Business Rates by Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the most efficient method for the  Council to collect payments. If you wish to pay this way, please either:

  • Contact the office using the contact details in the Contacts tab above
  • Visit the Customer Service section, or any of the INFO LINKS of Local Access Points or
  • Download the direct debit form from the ‘Downloads’ tab above and return it to the address shown on the form.
